One of the most popular questions we are asked is ‘Do you work weekends?’
When you work with Drone Above, flexibility is built in and that includes working weekends.
We understand that not all projects fit neatly into the Monday-to-Friday, 9-to-5 mould. Whether you’re managing a time-sensitive build, marketing a property that’s only accessible on weekends, or simply trying to avoid disrupting your customers during the working week we’re here to make it work for you.
Drone Above is proud to offer weekend availability across Hampshire, Sussex, Dorset and beyond. For us, it’s not just about flying drones it’s about supporting your workflow in a way that’s genuinely helpful.
Why Weekend Work Matters
Weekends can be the perfect window for aerial photography and inspections, especially when:
- You need quiet access: On-site activity slows down, meaning we can get cleaner, uninterrupted shots.
- Your team isn’t available during weekdays: We’ll work to your schedule, not the other way around.
- You want to avoid customer disruption: Especially for schools, venues or retail units where weekday access is awkward.
- Weather’s unpredictable: When a weekday flight is cancelled due to rain or wind, a weekend slot is ideal for rescheduling quickly.
We’ve worked Saturdays and Sundays for a wide range of clients from Checkatrade roof inspections in residential areas, to filming progress footage on commercial builds without any weekday interruptions.
In many cases, clients are surprised we even offer weekend work. The reality is, flexibility is one of our greatest strengths and because we’re a small, independently run drone service, we can adjust quickly to your needs.
A Typical Weekend Job
One recent example involved a drone roof survey in a tight residential cul-de-sac. The homeowner had weekday commitments and couldn’t be present, while the roofer needed a report ahead of a Monday start. We arranged to visit first thing on a Saturday, completed the flight in under an hour, and delivered edited footage by Sunday evening job done, no fuss.
Another job in West Sussex involved capturing marketing footage of a countryside pub. The venue owner wanted shots without customers around, so we agreed on an early Sunday morning shoot to catch the best light and the quietest moment. The final aerial footage became the opening shot of their new promo video.
We’ve also worked with small construction teams who prefer weekly progress footage delivered over the weekend ready for internal review and client reports by Monday morning. In these cases, having Saturday or Sunday availability isn’t just useful it’s essential.
How Weekend Filming Benefits Different Industries
The value of weekend drone services goes beyond convenience. For property developers, weekend filming allows marketing content to be captured without workers or materials cluttering the scene. For schools, it means inspections or promotional filming can happen when children aren’t present. For venues like hotels, golf courses, or wedding locations, we can work around bookings and business hours to ensure your visuals show the location at its very best.
We also support roofers and insurance companies who require urgent visuals after storms or damage often spotted or reported on a Saturday morning. Because we’re available seven days a week, we can often capture the footage the same day, speeding up the response and resolution.
We even support individual homeowners and landlords who might only be free on weekends to meet us on site. Whether it’s a pre-purchase check, leak investigation, or general condition update — we make sure the footage fits into your schedule.
How to Book a Weekend Drone Flight
- Get in touch early: Weekends are popular, and although we do our best to accommodate short notice, the earlier you book, the better.
- Weather watching: As always, flights depend on safe flying conditions. If the weather’s poor, we’ll work with you to find the next available window — weekday or weekend.
All flights are carried out by a certified, insured operator with both an Operator ID and Flyer ID. We follow CAA guidance and have completed work in Hampshire, Sussex, Dorset and as far north as Cumbria and County Durham all with weekend flexibility built in. Check the areas we operate in.
